What is positive mental health?
....The emotional and spiritual strength which allows us to enjoy life, surviving pain, suffering and disappointment. It is the strength to bring us out from pain to a more positive state of well-being and a sense of our own and others dignity and value.
What is mental distress?
Mental distress is feelings like sadness, hopelessness, anxiety, confusion about yourself and how you think of other people's words and actions.
Examples of mental distress
Feelings of despair, having thoughts of worthlessness and feeling like you have no purpose in life. Feeling frightened of being harmed by someone else or by yourself. Hearing voices talking to you when you are alone.
Mental illness is when a condition carries on for a length of time and affects a person's ability to do things that we take for granted, like leaving the house, being happy, enjoying life etc.
