Spanners is a very important group for me. It supports me in every way they can.
If it had not been for Spanners, I think I would have died by now (committed suicide). Also it helps me to get out and about on trips and holidays. I've been with Spanners
for four years (since 2000). I have found that I have made good friends and close ones too. I think since the new Drop-In Co-ordinator has started (Paulette), it has picked up members and it's really friendly atmosphere. I find it laid back. I think Paulette is a great Co-ordinator and so are the other staff & volunteers. Kate Wilson
I've been a member of Spanners for five years now. Most of that time I've been a volunteer. I love Spanners and I wouldn't do the voluntary work and be a member if I didn't enjoy it. Virtually every member I get on with. Spanners is a place where I can give my support to others and I can socialise and mingle. Brad Smith
I’ve been a member of Spanners for some years. I like the friendly atmosphere, the variety of food and social events. I enjoyed going to Southwold and the Christmas market. Judith Radley
Just a short e-mail to say what a really professional job Russell Jones has done on building the AIM web site. Also to put in writing how much being a member of Spanners has helped me to battle depression. A big thank you to Audrey, Paulette and everybody at spanners. Peter Moran
I think it's a lovely club to come to .. You meet new faces each week and it's a joy to meet new people. It's made a great difference to my life in the last two years I've been coming to Spanners. Robert Moore
Spanners is very well organised, there is something every week like a darts tournament, competitions and comedy.. It is somewhere to go to occupy your mind during an afternoon or evening and the staff are very nice, they sit and talk about things. Michael Palmer
Spanners is a very enjoyable place to go to and you meet lots of good and interesting types of people the food is great and friendship is always available with thanks from Mark Mark Slatter
I’ve been doing quite a bit of voluntary work, gardening, painting and decorating with a group first step and still doing the voluntary work on Thursdays with Country Care.
I notice when I’m doing things I feel better and more positive. Don’t know where I would be if I had not received a return call from AIM about giving Spanners a try all those months ago. I’ve got you to thank for being there for me. Alan Boddy
We took a holiday to Ayr
And had some good times to share
I shared a caravan with Mick and Brad
And a good time by all was had
I didn't eat haggis, tatties and neeps
But have some good memories to keep
I brought back some fine souvenirs
So fray Bonnie Scotland
And see you next year!
